What’s Up, Doc? is a 1950 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is such an authentic short.

Here we find out the origin story of Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd in what is basically a biographical film. Yes, this is a biopic for better and for worse. When it comes to the negatives, it led to much less humor as the movie is never particularly funny with the gags and action not being the emphasis here.

But on the positive side, the film is unique and different. And it also mostly works as seeing the history of these two stars was very interesting and entertaining. I particularly liked the cameos of the Hollywood stars which were very funny as well as the backstory to the titular famous phrase by Bugs. The approach mostly worked as the two share a terrific dynamic.

What’s Up, Doc? lacks gags and action, but it delivers in terms of originality in its approach. It’s a biopic with an interesting origin story for its stars.
