Pink Punch (1966)
Pink Punch Review
Pink Punch is a 1966 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
The Pink Panther introduces his own beverage, but the asterisk above the name keeps changing the color from pink to green. Eventually, he entirely turns into green himself. Of course more could have been done with this premise in terms of humor and situations, but overall it’s a great return to the quality of the first couple of entries in the series.
This is where the series shines if it’s not using The Little Man. These somewhat abstract shorts are great, and the emphasis on color is always perfect for the character who is literally pink and that is his defining characteristic. That’s why this short is pleasantly creative, weird and overall very entertaining and satisfactory.
Pink Punch is a pretty good short which benefits from terrific animation and an original premise centered on color.
