High Diving Hare Review
High Diving Hare is a 1949 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a good flick.
Bugs Bunny is in a vaudeville show, and he organizes a diving act which Yosemite Sam attends. Naturally, he makes a fool of himself once again. First and foremost, I find this movie overrated. It’s not the best short starring this pairing as some have proclaimed as it doesn’t have enough timeless moments to it, and only the finale is truly memorable.
I am of course talking about that “law of physics” gag at the end which is absolutely hilarious. Bugs is so funny there, and that was a perfect self-parody moment for the series. Yosemite Sam is also very strong here, and both have some terrific line deliveries. The action is solid, but overall I wanted more from it in terms of excitement.
High Diving Hare is well animated, well-constructed and it has a truly terrific finale, but overall it could have been better.
