Zipping Along (1953)
Zipping Along is a 1953 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid flick.
This short is not one of the better Road Runner shorts, but it’s good enough. The movie is probably the most extreme example of cross-cutting and editing so far in the series as it has at least thirteen different segments. Thus, all are very short and most do not strike you as particularly memorable.
But the cannonball scene was fun, and it was particularly interesting seeing the coyote try to use hypnotism and different trickery than he had used before. Those original scenes were clearly the best with the final segment being the most inventive as him trying to ensnare the bird was so much fun.
Zipping Along has way too many segments for sure, but some are excellent and quite inventive.
