Wild Love Review

Wild Love is a 2020 animated short film that is truly hilarious.

A young couple is hiking in the mountains and they have this wonderful afternoon together in the wild, but then all changes when they accidentally kill an animal, so they face the wrath of these critters who ultimately murder them. Yes, this thing reminded me so much of ‘South Park’ how utterly crazy it was.

Although the movie is too short and all of the craziness abrupt too quickly, I really liked it and I was having so much fun watching it all unfold. It was unexpected and I was surprised by how edgy it was. The man was unlikable, which was an interesting choice, while the critters were so creepy and funny. These crazy groundhogs were so well designed and the animation overall is stellar with the use of darker and lighter color shifts being so well utilized.

Wild Love is abrupt, but crazy and so much fun. It’s so unexpectedly brutal and different that it is difficult not to appreciate.
