Who’s Who in the Zoo (1942)
Who’s Who in the Zoo Review
Who’s Who in the Zoo is a 1942 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a pretty typical flick.
I mean typical in the sense that we have gotten at least twenty of these spot-gag cartoons so far and maybe even more. This one has a couple of standout scenes such as that bear hugging a sheep to death, but the sheep likes it. That was quite funny. The narration’s also quite solid.
I also liked the lion obsessing over ice cream. That was cute. But unfortunately most of the other sequences are uninspired and not particularly funny. The same goes for its uninteresting animation and particularly the use of Porky Pig who is here relegated to a couple of minor, insignificant scenes.
Who’s Who in the Zoo has its funny scenes, but it’s mostly a typical, familiar and not particularly humorous.
