Weasel While You Work is a 1958 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a fine cartoon.

This is a rare Foghorn Leghorn short that is actually set in winter. That gave it some authenticity and the snow setting was very well incorporated into the action and the gags. The first one was particularly solid. Foghorn is funny here, though Barnyard Dawg needed more screen time.

The short is fun and funny, but the only problem is that the weasel character got too much screen time, stealing the valuable time from the two main characters. The animation is gorgeous with the snow looking beautiful. Stock music is used here, but I didn’t notice. The movie is very fun and charming, but it needed more memorable gags.

Weasel While You Work is gorgeously animated and perfectly solid, but it needed a bit more memorable gags and more screen time for Foghorn and Dawg.
