Water, Water Every Hare (1952)
Water, Water Every Hare Review
Water, Water Every Hare is a 1952 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very atmospheric flick.
Yes, the film is unmistakably similar to 1946’s ‘Hair-Raising Hare’. And that first half thus suffered as it certainly wasn’t original enough for it to stand out on its own. However, the flick is still better than the aforementioned one as it has less action, and more genuinely intriguing plot developments.
I loved the dynamite in the hair scene, that was hilarious. But I also loved everything with the water, and how he ended up in his hole, that was all great. The castle looks stunning, the meticulous approach is superb and Gossamer himself is incredibly memorable and unique. The animation is amazing, the pacing is suitably slower and the atmosphere is as a result quite weird and fun.
Water, Water Every Hare has its problems, but the atmosphere is so rich and the creature is so intriguing that I did not mind the flaws too much.
