Wabbit Twouble (1941)
Wabbit Twouble Review
Wabbit Twouble is a 1941 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is such a fun cartoon.
Elmer Fudd arrives to Jellostone Park where he wants to enjoy rest and relaxation, but is continually tormented by Bugs Bunny and eventually a grizzly bear. He destroys the rest sign in the end, but the ranger sees him and sends him to prison along with the rabbit and the bear to further annoy him. Yes, that ending made no sense, but it was still very amusing. The entire premise is ripe for this kind of comedy of cartoon and they made use of it splendidly.
I do admit that I actually like the fat Elmer present here. Most may not like him and it is odd that they changed him suddenly, but still he was more interesting this way. As for Bugs, he is excellent here. He really made a fool of Elmer so well and I particularly liked those scenes where he arranged his sleeping routine. That was quite inventive and new for the series. The bear appeared too late in the game, but was still well used. The animation’s great too.
Wabbit Twouble is one of the funniest and most entertaining shorts so far thanks to terrific situations well played for laughs and reliably conniving Bugs Bunny.
Nice Review, I quite enjoyed the episode as well, and I very much agree with your analysis of the episode. Also, I’d just like you to be informed of the fact that I fucking LOVE big chungus. You know? The meme? Anywho, thanks for writing this review.
