Trap Happy Porky (1945)
Trap Happy Porky Review
Trap Happy Porky is a 1945 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very subpar entry.
Porky argues with a bunch of street cats singing in front of his house. That’s the basic premise here and, needless to say, it’s just overly lazy and I’ve seen something like this many times before in this series. It has great voices, solid animation and Porky is actually very good and quite well utilized.
But the problem with the short is that the movie is overly old-fashioned and instead of 1945, it seemed like it came out in 1934 or something. I did find it endearing and overall solid and harmless, but then again I expect bigger laughs and more originality at this point in the series’ history.
Trap Happy Porky definitely has a solid use of Porky, but it’s particularly old-fashioned and familiar to the point of being dated.
