Trail of the Lonesome Pink is a 1974 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
With the help of some snapping turtles, the Pink Panther plays tricks on fur trappers Jacques and Jules after his tail gets snagged in one of their foothold traps. These two gentlemen are basically the Little Man doubled, which I found very amusing. They’re clearly the highlights of this cartoon.
The short could have featured a better ending as the series mostly fails at sticking the landing in the finale in recent years. The beginning or basically the entire first half is so interesting and superbly realized in world building that ultimately the movie was a disappointment in terms of repetitive turtle scenarios.
Trail of the Lonesome Pink is so well animated and very well realized in its world and premise, but the second half could have been better.
