Touchdown Mickey Review

Touchdown Mickey is a 1932 Mickey Mouse cartoon. It is a terrific entry.

Mickey Mouse is here playing American Football for his team against Pete’s team. That is the basic plot here and the film literally follows their whole game and that’s it. Now I wanted more plot for sure and Pete’s villainy is lacking, but I still have to congratulate the film for being one of the few sports cartoons which actually entertained me as that is rare for me.

Mickey is phenomenal here. I liked Pete and Minnie and that audience member with the glasses was also very funny. The same goes for Goofy who is memorable once again in a small role. But Mickey steals the show here as an underdog hero. The film is very fast paced for better and for worse, but that led to a lot of hilarious, very inventive gags and it truly explored this sport phenomenally to great comedic results. The action is quick and superbly executed.

Touchdown Mickey definitely is fast paced, but a phenomenally executed sports cartoon with a lot of very funny gags.
