Top Ten Big Mouth Episodes

Big Mouth has had a plethora of truly terrific episodes throughout its four-season run so far. This is my ranking of ten best episodes of the show with the focus being on the most emotional, funniest and most impactful episodes plotwise.

10. The International Show

This inventive episode was the highlight of Season 7. It may seem like filler on the surface, but it works as one of the most creative episodes the show’s ever done. Getting to visit so many different countries across all continents led to a diverse, interesting time to be had in this universe.

9. Ejaculation

This is the premiere of the first season and the entire show. It instantly hooked me in as the characters are well developed from the beginning while it emphasizes the many insecurities teenage boys have during this period with a lot of nuance and care.

8. My Furry Valentine

My Furry Valentine is a very long episode, clocking in at over forty minutes, which is almost double the length of a regular episode. It was undoubtedly Matthew’s moment to shine as he not only befriends Jessi, but he meets another boy as well. Maury is so funny as his guide.

7. The Department of Puberty

This busy episode finally introduces us to the world of the hormone monsters. The world building is great here. Connie becomes Nick’s monster here while Jay begins his bisexual adventures with his furniture in a hilarious fashion.

6. The Pornscape

This is one of the more imaginative Big Mouth episodes that features stupendous world building. Seeing porn as a whole world on its own was crazy and hilarious while the animation here was at the show’s finest.

5. Super Mouth

This Season 3 finale is something entirely different. It ended this season with a blast. Seeing all of the boys and girls get superpowers made for one heck of an entertaining episode. It’s hilarious, but also much more than that as Nick and Andrew fall apart here in an epic fashion.

4. Pillow Talk

Jay is by far my favorite character on this entire series and this is his funniest episode. What we have here is basically Jay fucking the pillows in his house. It’s over-the-top, but actually a painfully realistic scenario that was portrayed in such an amusing way.

3. Poop Madness

The camp trilogy that started the fourth season was truly outstanding and this is the best of the bunch. Nick and Andrew finally reunite as friends and how they do that is so crazy that it needs to be seen to be believed. The poop scenes is brutally disgusting, but undeniably so funny.

2. Rankings

The ranking of all girls and boys based on hotness level is something ‘South Park’ has done before, but it’s a concept that is always full of potential, which Big Mouth mined perfectly in this instance. It’s such a well written episode with all scenarios being very entertaining.

1. Nick Starr

Nick Starr is my number one pick and a further proof that the fourth season was Big Mouth’s best without a doubt. It’s also the imaginative episode where we are thrown into the future where Nick is this rich, but lonely man and the world is nearing its end. Seeing all of the characters as their older selves was very interesting and honest to their personalities while the ending itself was so epic and over-the-top in the best way possible.
