The Teacher’s Pest is a 1931 animated short film from the Talkartoons series.
Elementary school-aged Bimbo is late to school where a lot of hijinks ensue. This Talkartoons short is far from the most unique or strange entries in the series. It lacked the artistry and originality that defined the best shorts in this series. While Betty and Bimbo are fun together and the animation is strong, the story is nothing to write home about.
It’s your standard school-set short that is all about the gags and chaos that can erupt in school. Some of these gags worked and the energy in its execution was evident, but most were forgettable. The score is also surprisingly not memorable. Bimbo individually wasn’t all that great here and the ending was just okay.
