The Stupor Salesman (1948)
The Stupor Salesman Review
The Stupor Salesman is a 1948 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a fun flick.
Daffy Duck is a door-to-door salesman once again, and he tries to sell various stuff to Slug McSlug who’s a notorious criminal robber being chased by the police. I found his introduction a bit odd as he’s not as well utilized as he ought to have been given his background, but still he’s a different type of Looney Tunes supporting character that it was interesting seeing Daffy with such a persona.
Speaking of the duck, he is so annoying, fast-talking and persistent that a door-to-door salesman is an absolutely perfect position for him, and thus every such short really works including this one. I wanted more memorable action moments, but it has some including the ending which is so much fun. The animation is also great as is the dialogue from the protagonist.
The Stupor Salesman is a terrific fit for Daffy and he’s also accompanied by an interesting, though underutilized individual.
