The Shell Shocked Egg (1948)
The Shell Shocked Egg Review
The Shell Shocked Egg is a 1948 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a standard flick.
This one involves the hatching of turtle eggs and one guy who just won’t hatch. It’s a typical short in terms of its by now signature Looney Tunes/Merry Melodies humor and they need to shake it up a bit with these kinds of films in the comedy department.
But it still worked solidly for me thanks in large part to the entertaining protagonist, and also the short is well animated and very well acted with some great voices. The movie utilized cleverly on the reproduction cycle of turtles, and in an effectively jokey manner.
The Shell Shocked Egg is typical in its humor, but still solid enough and fun in its plot and protagonist.
