The Rattled Rooster (1948)
The Rattled Rooster Review
The Rattled Rooster is a 1948 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a standard flick.
It is yet another one of those animal chase flicks which serve their purpose, but are far from even remotely memorable or unique. I have to say that the rooster is a fun character pretty well realized and he is the character highlight here. The animation is the standout as it’s polished and quite colorful too with great character designs.
But the worm whom the rooster chases is forgettable, and eventually the female snake falls in love with the rooster mistakenly, and that whole subplot I found unnecessary and so typical by this point that it really did not appeal to me. They needed a more original second half, that’s for sure.
The Rattled Rooster certainly has a solid protagonist and good animation, but the second half is unoriginal and dull.
