The Prize Pest (1951)
The Prize Pest Review
The Prize Pest is a 1951 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a phenomenal flick.
This Daffy Duck/Porky Pig vehicle sees the duck get delivered in a package to the pig, and then he continues to harass poor Porky by pretending to have an evil side to himself. That Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde routine is the highlight of this picture for sure, though it did not end on that high of a note. I found Daffy losing a bit disappointing.
But still, he is hilarious here, and especially funny in those “evil” scenes where he outsmarted Porky in such a funny fashion. The humor here is excellent. One of my favorite scenes includes the opening where he literally insulted his house through instant classic one-liners. The animation is also excellent, and Porky himself is as fantastic as he was in his golden years.
The Prize Pest has a weaker ending, but the whole routine here is hilarious, and both Porky and Daffy are absolutely terrific here.
