The Pest That Came to Dinner (1948)
The Pest That Came to Dinner Review
The Pest That Came to Dinner is a 1948 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very weak flick.
Porky Pig has a termite problem. He employs a trickster dog to get rid of him. But eventually, the pig uses the termite to start up a successful furniture business. I loved that finale. It was a lot of fun, clever and by far the only great reason to watch this entire film.
Otherwise, the movie has a solid dog and termite character, but the dog made a fool of Porky a bit too much for my taste. Those action sequences were overlong, and the entire movie went on for too long in my opinion. I wanted more of the termite in the short that was supposedly about him. The dog is fun, but overly manipulative.
The Pest That Came to Dinner has a great ending, but otherwise it is neither particularly inventive nor fun.
