The Lion’s Busy ReviewThe Lion’s Busy Review

The Lion’s Busy is a 1950 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a solid flick.

This short stars lesser Looney Tunes stars Leo the Lion and Beaky Buzzard. I haven’t seen these two in quite a while so their appearance here felt rather odd. The movie is your typical chase cartoon for better and for worse. It is uneven, the first half is much weaker to me personally and neither of the characters really shines.

However, they are a solid pair at the end of the day, surprisingly solid. I did like how Beaky always outsmarted Leo and how the lion was decisive. Some of the second half moments were actually quite memorable, including the whole conclusion which was a lot of fun. The animation is also very strong and the sound is good as well.

The Lion’s Busy is uneven in quality and never really great, but it has its fine moments and the character pairing is solid.

My Rating – 3.5
