The Hand Is Pinker Than the Eye (1967)
The Hand Is Pinker Than the Eye Review
The Hand Is Pinker Than the Eye is a 1967 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
A cold Pink Panther sneaks into a house of illusion owned by Zammo the magician (the Little Man) and is constantly bothered by the magician’s rabbit. The magician needed more screen time obviously, but the rabbit himself is so amusing and he stole the show for sure. He was a perfect type of impossible, annoying cartoon creation that is only there to frustrate the protagonist.
But the reason why this is one of the greats in the series lies in its impressive imagination. It is abundantly clear that this is the most artistic film so far in the series with beautiful, unique and inventive animation. The action is also very engaging, and sometimes even quite inspired. Simply the authentic setting and premise led to a lot of originality in the action/humor department as well.
The Hand Is Pinker Than the Eye is a hugely artistic, wonderfully authentic film with a fantastic animation and superb action sequences.
