The Fire Alarm (1936)
The Fire Alarm Review
The Fire Alarm is a 1936 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a typical, but solid entry.
It is the only cartoon starring Ham and Ex in the main roles whereas Beans is their uncle here. I can see why these two did not stick around as they are your regular troublemaking kids from the thirties and there’s just not a lot more to them. Beans is much better here, but even he isn’t all that memorable.
The Fire Alarm is an okay short, but definitely way too typical in premise and execution. Basically it is filled with Ham and Ex making trouble wherever they go and finally Beans spanks them in the end to teach them a lesson. That was also a typical ending, but it is the highlight nonetheless. This cartoon is solid, but not memorable and not funny at all.
The Fire Alarm is a passable diversion with typical plot and not that great use of its characters.
