The Curious Puppy (1939)
The Curious Puppy Review
The Curious Puppy is a 1939 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a very weak short.
It follows two dogs who go to an amusement park which somehow got itself opened in the middle of the night. The dogs fool around, explore the environment and get confused with the variety of attractions. That’s the story here. Needless to say, it is a plotless Merry Melody with no humor, strong action or point to it whatsoever.
The movie is beautifully animated as the dogs look cute and endearing and the amusement park backgrounds are lovely. But it is just an incredibly tedious short which is not only very long, but also tiring to watch as nothing ever happens in it. It needed some quality gags and we did not get any of it here as even its ending is forgettable and unfunny.
The Curious Puppy is a Disney rip-off with excellent animation, but very weak humor and action as well as having no plot to it whatsoever.
