The Chocolate Chase is a 1980 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series.

Speedy Gonzales is once again called to get past Daffy Duck when he denies the mice of Mexico chocolate bunnies for Easter. This is one of the better movies with this particular pairing, but I still do contend that they just aren’t fit to be with each other. There is a lack of stronger humorous bits throughout this movie that was troubling to me. The animation is also quite substandard.

But the flick worked because of solid characterization for both Daffy and Speedy. Daffy being all proud to be a manager was quite amusing to witness and the mice had their fun moments too. The highlight was the chocolate gag in the final scene that was expected, but well executed and a lot of fun.

The Chocolate Chase is a solid Daffy/Speedy short that has weak animation and story, but some gags were quite good and Daffy was amusing here.
