The Bird Came C.O.D. (1942)
The Bird Came C.O.D. Review
The Bird Came C.O.D. is a 1942 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a weak flick.
This short is about a dog who is continuously getting provoked and irritated by a small bird. It is basically a rip-off of Inki and the Mynah bird characters and also approach and that was bad to witness. They were very lazy with this short. I still liked both characters as they are memorable, but again far from original.
The animation is admittedly very good as is the score. The film sounds and looks professional, but the pacing is so bad that it renders the entire film boring. It’s so slow, uneventful and it never took off properly unfortunately. The weak direction and pacing continue to plague this entire series.
The Bird Came C.O.D. is well scored and it looks good, but it’s unoriginal in both approach and characters.
