The Astroduck is a 1966 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very weak short.
Daffy buys a house in Mexico, but Speedy will not leave the house. At the end Daffy blows his house up and is hurtled into space. My main issue with this short is its lack of inventiveness. It just goes through the motions. I am getting sick and tired of these Daffy and Speedy cartoons that are tiresome and repetitive.
Daffy has by now become a total asshole. He is unlikable and annoying. Speedy here is not as memorable. Their dynamic has never been strong and here I had the same feeling about them. The only scene in the movie that really worked is the dynamite gag. That was hilarious and very well realized. It was a rare breath of fresh air in an era of uninventive Looney Tunes shorts.
