Test Pilot Donald (1951)
Test Pilot Donald Review
Test Pilot Donald is a 1951 animated short film produced by Disney. It’s a pretty flawed flick.
Dale gets into Donald’s plane and pilots it through a series of twists and turns, with Donald hanging by the tail. This is a divergent movie in terms of characters as Chip is not in it for the large amount of screen time. Apparently, he’s had enough of these two. It is up to Dale to annoy Donald as much as possible on his own.
And the result is an odd flick that never quite recovers from not having both chipmunks in it. The animation is gorgeous and polished as always and the score is pretty good. I loved the aerial scenes and Donald was quite amusing here. But Dale is not as interesting individually and I wished that the movie included them both. The gags were also not the greatest.
