Swallow the Leader is a 1949 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very standard flick.
This is one of those films which are old-fashioned and standard in approach, though obviously pretty solid in execution despite all odds. I did like this cat, Supreme Cat is his name, and he is a new character but he works, and I would prefer himself in such a cartoon instead of Sylvester.
The animation is also very nice, and some of the chases are quite good as well. But, the movie is unfortunately rather subpar in terms of storytelling and humor with that final sequence in particular flying over my head entirely as I could not get what was going on there at all.
Swallow the Leader is subpar in story and humor, but solid in action, animation and its fine protagonist.
