Strife with Father (1950)
Strife with Father Review
Strife with Father is a 1950 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is an okay flick.
Two stuck-up British sparrows get Beaky Buzzard delivered, but unfortunately for them, he never develops into a beautiful bird. The premise itself is fantastic, but the execution left a lot to be desired. Let’s talk about Beaky first. He’s great as he always is, but he pales in comparison to the other two birds here.
Yes, these two British sparrows are hilarious, and I wanted more from them. The film never utilized them to the greatest extent as they had a lot of potential for even more humor. I liked the humor overall, but the scenarios and especially the animation should have been better.
Strife with Father has a great premise, but weaker execution. Beaky is fine, but the two sparrows steal the show here.
