Stooge for a Mouse (1950)
Stooge for a Mouse Review
Stooge for a Mouse is a 1950 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a weaker flick.
For a Sylvester and Hector the Bulldog short, I surely expected more. What we get here is very weak, though it has its moments. I liked both of them of course, and especially Hector is memorable here, more memorable even than Sylvester as he’s very amusing throughout.
However, the short doesn’t have Tweety in it. It only has one forgettable mouse, and most of the action felt rather subpar. The animation is also weaker, though admittedly I watched an inferior version of it online. Needless to say, Sylvester belongs with Tweety and he continues to get lesser cartoons with others.
Stooge for a Mouse is not bad and Hector is fine, but Sylvester is less memorable and the action’s subpar.
