Squatter’s Rights (1946)
Squatter’s Rights Review
Squatter’s Rights is a 1946 Mickey Mouse cartoon. It is an atypical flick.
By atypical I mean that this movie has Chip and Dale in it for some unbeknownst reason to me. They ended up actually being the best part of the movie, but still it was odd seeing them in a Mickey Mouse short. I found Mickey underutilized here unfortunately and Pluto is fine, but not as great as he usually is.
But those two chipmunks are very amusing and I loved every single moment with them. The ending is particularly fun and memorable. The animation’s good and some of the humorous scenes are so well played out. I loved also the setting and how well it was utilized into the plot and action and I just wished for even more humor and more great moments with the two classic characters.
Squatter’s Rights is odd and underutilized in some areas, but it’s great in its setting, ending and the chipmunks themselves who steal the show here.
