South Park The Streaming Wars Review
South Park The Streaming Wars is a 2022 comedy television special that is among the weakest specials released so far for the franchise without a doubt.

“Everyone just wants to have their shit on their stream
and then get bought out, you know?“

This special is very problematic as the humor is almost nowhere to be found and it seemed more to me like a personal vendetta against streaming services than a genuinely funny special intended for fans to enjoy. They just seemed too bitter and the result is an unfunny, repetitive special that consisted of too many repeated lines about streaming that is about water streams, but too obviously standing as a metaphor for streaming services.
None of the streaming storyline was funny or interesting in any shape or form. Bringing back old characters, such as Pi Pi and ManBearPig also did not helped matters. In fact, they ruined both of them. The kids building the boats reduced them to very uninteresting roles while Randy getting accused of being a “Karen” was maybe funny at first, but it quickly overstayed its welcome due to its repetitiveness.
Parker and Stone turned into full-on SJWs. They are okay with making fun of white people and white people only in such a horrible turn of events that rendered them unfunny in their PC agenda. It’s a further proof that comedy as a genre is destroyed in Hollywood. This whole special is too politically correct to ever really be funny.
The only highlight is Cartman, but even with him they could and should have gone much further. The continued narrative of his mother’s growing impatience with his spoiled brat ways was fantastic and very well explored here and it’s the rare case of serialization that I genuinely liked. However, the trans procedures done on children was never properly addressed and Cartman getting fake boobs was only somewhat funny, but never fully explored as the old South Park clearly would have done.
