Smile Pretty, Say Pink (1966)
Smile Pretty, Say Pink Review
Smile Pretty, Say Pink is a 1966 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
Pink Panther here continually sabotages the efforts of a photographer played by the great Little Man. Finally, he is returning in full swing in these couple of films around this time period, and he’s reliably great. The panther himself is at his best when he is paired with him. That goes without saying.
Though the ending is very odd in the panther’s doom and the film never really excels in any of its scenes, the setting of the national park is unique for the series and well utilized into the action. The humor is also pretty good, and the premise is fantastic. I liked the animation too. It’s odd when these characters are outside, but this is one of the better examples of that.
Smile Pretty, Say Pink could have been better, but the setting is well utilized and both of these classic characters are great together.
