Slightly Daffy Review

Slightly Daffy is a 1944 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is yet another pointless remake.

Now, this movie isn’t quite as bad as some other remakes which are basically shot-by-shot retellings of the same story, but it’s still pretty egregious and just unnecessary. I appreciated that it was colorized and with some a bit different scenes, but still for the most part it remains unnecessary.

I liked watching the film for I really loved the original which is ‘Scalp Trouble’. That movie is hilarious in that gay joke and a phenomenal, crazy turn from Daffy Duck. Daffy and Porky are so good here and their scenes together are wonderful. That’s why I enjoyed watching them together, even though it’s the same story told again.

Slightly Daffy is literally the same as the original with a few minor differences. The plot remains terrific, but the movie itself is pointless.
