Sink Pink (1965)
Sink Pink Review
Sink Pink is a 1965 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
This is a highly unusual short for this series in more ways than once. It is the only talkative short so far for better and for worse. I really liked this big-game hunter who’s such an amusing, fast-talking little man. He hunts animals for his wife in his Noah’s Ark. And only The Pink Panther manages to escape him.
I loved the different outdoors setting, and its terrific premise is well explored too. The animation is solid, the animals are well utilized and I loved both the set-up first half and the fun action-oriented second half is very strong with the entire finale being so good. But that moment where the panther spoke was so awkward as was his raspy voice. Supporting characters may talk, but the protagonist may not in this series.
Sink Pink is odd in its speaking approach, but the premise itself is awesome and so well executed.
