Baby Bottleneck (1946)
Baby Bottleneck Review
Baby Bottleneck is a 1946 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a weaker Daffy Duck outing.
I liked that they touched upon the Baby Boom phenomenon that happened after World War II in this for its time very timely animated short. Warner Bros. was very relevant during its tenure in animation, but that came to their detriment as it led to far from timeless cartoons nowadays. This is yet another such example of a dated movie.
I did find the jokes solid though and both Daffy and Porky are particularly fun in their dynamic here, but then again the two needed much more screen time as the movie focused way too much on exposition and non-comedy action parts. The premise is fine though and the animation is very good, but I wanted a more amusing cartoon in the end.
Baby Bottleneck is definitely very solid in its premise and the Porky/Daffy dynamic, but the two needed more screen time and the humor was subdued.
