Put-Put Pink (1968)
Put-Put Pink Review
Put-Put Pink is a 1968 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
The Pink Panther turns his hand to building a motorcycle, but mayhem ensues whenever he goes for a drive. The premise here is one among a dozen of such cartoons released in this series. That makes it very uninspired, unoriginal and frankly tiresome throughout.
The Little Man is the highlight here. He appears for the first time ever in colors rather than just being painted white which makes this cartoon important. His annoyance at Pink is very amusing, and some moments are excellent. But those came sparingly, and though the short is solid and per usual greatly animated, it needed more originality for sure.
Put-Put Pink has its amusing, fun moments, but overall it’s an uninspired short in terms of storytelling.
