Porky’s Ant (1941)
Porky’s Ant Review
Porky’s Ant is a 1941 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very weak short.
Porky is in search of a famous, money worthy ant in the middle of the forest. That is the premise here and even though it starts with a solid, interesting first act with a pretty good atmosphere and an adventurous tone to it, the rest of the cartoon is so mediocre that it ruined any potential for greatness whatsoever.
Porky is actually quite present in this short and is here throughout the whole runtime which I really liked. Finally he is beginning to get more screen time throughout this year of Looney Tunes productions. But he doesn’t get any memorable lines or plot points here and the ant itself is so forgettable too. The film’s also overlong and not particularly inspired in terms of animation.
Porky’s Ant definitely starts off well, but it ends up being uninspired, forgettable and immensely boring.
