Porky Chops (1949)
Porky Chops Review
Porky Chops is a 1949 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is a very weak flick.
Porky chops down a tree, but a feisty squirrel is up there to stop him. Needless to say, this is yet another one of those movies where an animal rebels against an intruder, and I am simply tired of those by this point.
Don’t get me wrong, the animation is terrific, and Porky is as great as he always is in these situational comedies, but the squirrel himself isn’t all that memorable plus I found the storytelling and the action repetitive. Some moments are good, but overall the film needed a more eventful narrative for a seven-minute runtime.
Porky Chops has good animation and Porky is great, but the story and the action overall are very tired leading to a weaker Looney Tunes entry.
