Olive’s Sweepstakes Ticket is a 1941 animated short from Popeye the Sailor series. It is a very good, traditional entry.

Olive got a winning sweepstakes ticket, but loses it and it is up to Popeye to catch it. It is a traditional and not that original, yet very satisfying premise with mostly good execution. It is sometimes pretty repetitive in that ticket search, but for the most part, the film is satisfying. I loved that ending which was so funny.

Olive is excellent here and especially Popeye. Again his speech produces the most amusing moments. The animation as well as the score are both quite good and I really enjoyed the beginning where Olive searched for the ticket as that provided us with the opportunity to really look around her house and what a mess it is.
