Pop ‘im Pop (1950)
Pop ‘im Pop Review
Pop ‘im Pop is a 1950 animated short film from the Looney Tunes series. It is such a fun flick.
This cartoon features the first ever appearance of Sylvester Junior. Hippety Hopper is back to punch Sylvester while his son urges him to fight back as his reputation is on the line. And there lies the finest moment in the short – his son’s manipulations to make him fight were downright hilarious as were Sylvester’s annoyed reactions to that.
Other than that, the movie isn’t all that exciting as it’s rather repetitive. I loved Sylvester, but Hopper needed more memorable scenes. This is honestly Sylvester Junior’s time to shine as he was so funny and annoying here in a very memorable fashion. But the action overall needed much more variety to it.
Pop ‘im Pop is very repetitive in its action scenes, but Sylvester Junior is quite funny in what is a great debut.
