Pink Pranks Review
Pink Pranks is a 1971 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
The Pink Panther arrives at Nome instead of Rome and meets a friendly seal, an unfriendly polar bear, and a hunter (the Little Man) trying to catch the seal for its fur. I liked seeing the little guy here, but he was quite underused unfortunately. This role wasn’t the best for him.
The entire short could have utilized its setting even more, but still seeing an icy location was a change in pace for the series. The seal was adorable and Pink trying to help him was so sweet to witness. Some of the action is also pretty good, especially in the third act with the icy cliff finale.
Pink Pranks is not particularly accomplished overall, but it’s solid enough with an interesting setting and many cute moments to be had.
