Pink Outs Review
Pink Outs is a 1967 animated short film from the Pink Panther series.
This short is very different and unique, not unlike any other in the series for better and for worse. It basically consists of 12 segments which all end with pink splashes when Pink gets killed in some way or another. Although that led to many overly brisk segments and the whole film is too much edited, I liked its authentic nature a lot.
The animation here is gorgeous and very artistic. The whole film is very atmospheric and abstract in the best way possible. The standout is that sand clock segment which to me was the most memorable of the bunch, but most are pretty good overall, though too short of course. I would have instead of 12 put 6 segments myself.
Pink Outs has too short segments, but this film needs to be respected for how unique it is, and how gorgeously animated and artistic it certainly is.
