Peck Up Your Troubles (1945)
Peck Up Your Troubles Review
Peck Up Your Troubles is a 1945 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a solid flick.
I liked this short quite a bit. Sylvester is phenomenal here as he always is and his frustrations make for a great comedy. I loved the ending and that running gag with the cutting of the tree was so well executed. I really liked everything about this movie, but to some extent though as it’s not great ever.
I am of course talking about the bird adversary who’s just not as memorable as Tweety is and he doesn’t even talk. I do wonder when the famous duo is finally going to be established, but for now I guess this has got to do. I liked the animation and I liked some of the gags, but it needed more pizzazz and memorability factor to it.
Peck Up Your Troubles does have a solid use of the protagonist and some fun scenes, but it needed a more memorable plot and adversary.
