Muscle Tussle is a 1953 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is such an amusing flick.

Daffy Duck is at a beach with his girlfriend Melissa. There is a muscleman there who tries to seduce Melissa, but Daffy won’t have it of course. The scrawny versus muscular narrative that ensues is a lot of fun, but I wanted more from that muscular dude who was promising, but eventually was left underutilized.

I loved the beach setting, that was well explored. And Melissa here is such a shallow bitch that I loved her. Daffy is phenomena in his lusty mode, and some of his lines were excellent. The conclusion was rushed for sure, but quite funny nonetheless. The animation is good and the film is fun and humorous throughout.

Muscle Tussle has its weaknesses, but it’s very well utilized in its setting and it’s both fun and funny.
