Mighty Hunters Review

Mighty Hunters is a 1940 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a very boring entry.

It follows a group of Native American kids as they have adventures on the canyon along with their mule. This is basically a plotless movie as there is no bigger story or point to be found here whatsoever. It is very long at eight minutes and thus very dull as it is slow paced and nothing interesting happens.

In terms of the gags, it also fails. It is too cute of a cartoon which tries to copy Disney a bit too much, but it is still not without its charm as some scenes are quite endearing and the characters are very sweet. The animation is particularly memorable and especially impressive in the natural landscapes. I loved those moving panning shots and the ending was great.

Mighty Hunters is so well animated and charming, but plotless and not at all funny or entertaining.
