Mickey’s Kangaroo (1933)
Mickey’s Kangaroo Review
Mickey’s Kangaroo is a 1935 Mickey Mouse cartoon. It is a weak entry.
Mickey gets two kangaroos from Australia and Pluto is now jealous. That is the premise here and I find that premise ripe for this series as it has a lot of potential. However, the execution is so weak that it rendered the entire flick quite weak. I liked the kangaroos and some of the action was fine. I also really liked Pluto here.
He got a voice over scene where we hear what he was thinking which was odd, but interesting as the first such scene in the series. Pluto definitely is the highlight of the film, but Mickey is admittedly much less memorable in comparison. The movie is important for being the last black-and-white entry in the Mickey Mouse series and unfortunately they ended on a weak note.
Mickey’s Kangaroo definitely has its moments and Pluto is good, but Mickey is forgettable and the premise is not well utilized.
