Inki and the Minah Bird (1943)
Inki and the Minah Bird Review
Inki and the Minah Bird is a 1943 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a very good, funny short.
This is another short starring the two characters but also reconnecting them with the lion from ‘Inki and the Lion’. Although the lion takes central stage here to the detriment of the other characters, I still loved him and I found him quite amusing. But Inki is underused unfortunately, though still a lot of fun.
The Minah Bird steals the show here per usual. The entire third act of the picture is amazing and I loved each and every gag in there. The finale is particularly fantastic. I found the animation solid, but far from astonishing. The score is again quite moody and the action is mostly great, but the first half of the flick is admittedly plodding and not as exciting.
Inki and the Minah Bird has its issues, but the finale is phenomenal and hilarious plus all three characters got their great moments to shine here.
