I'd Love to Take Orders from You ReviewI’d Love to Take Orders from You Review

I’d Love to Take Orders from You a 1936 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a pretty endearing flick.

In this short we follow a scarecrow family. The father scares the crows while the son wants to become a big scarecrow himself. He sets out to scare the crow who scares and chases him until his father saves him and plays a joke on him. This is all charming family stuff executed really well and with some solid characterization.

But the humor is lacking and the film is rather typical and extremely predictable, especially in its very obvious ending. The film is too safe and although highly likable, it is still regular fare. The score is also not great, but the animation is definitely slick with great designs and pleasing colors.

I’d Love to Take Orders from You is definitely too safe, but highly likable and so well animated.

My Rating – 3.9
