Hurdy-Gurdy Hare (1950)
Hurdy-Gurdy Hare Review
Hurdy-Gurdy Hare is a 1950 animated short film from the Merry Melodies series. It is a weaker flick.
This one features Bugs Bunny who encounters Gruesome Gorilla. I do find this character not all that interesting. He had some solid appearances before, but here he is rather forgettable. And his pairing with Bugs wasn’t the most brilliant idea in the canon of this series.
As for Bugs himself, he’s very good per usual. I liked all of his actions here, and he really can never be anything less than hugely amusing and very funny. The short also looks good and some of the action sequences are very well executed, but the humor can be very dated at times with its overly timely references.
Hurdy-Gurdy Hare has a weaker humor and storyline, but Bugs is reliably entertaining and memorable.
